Has spent over eighteen years ministering to prisoners and ex-inmates in Ontario and Atlantic Canada— Since 2008, Darrin has been active through Street Hope Peterborough, a project of Threshold Ministries, which seeks to bring Peterborough’s neediest to a life-changing hope in Christ.

A Message from Darrin: Journey of Hope

When I look back through the past 24 years of giving my life to Jesus Christ and surrendering my heart to Him, I can only reflect with thanksgiving and praise on what Jesus has accomplished in my life! That journey started with a young man by the name of Andrew, a man who once lived on the street sharing his faith with me at a coffee shop in downtown Thunder Bay at 4:00a.m. I can remember that conversation like it was yesterday and the event that followed with me sitting on the steps of a church and asking Jesus to forgive me of all of my sins and to be my Lord and Savior. My journey started on November 1 1984 and I praise Jesus for rescuing me from a future of pain, sadness, and hopelessness. I have found a purpose for living and that purpose is rooted in my relationship with God who loves me and paid the price for my sins on the cross. Jesus has given me a new hope for my future and He wants the same for your life too! I will say that this journey has not always been an easy one, but it has been an exciting one with many challenges, painful experiences, tears, and laughter along the way! The most wonderful fact I rejoice in, is that Jesus has always been faithful to look after me, in spite of my lack of obedience and faithfulness to Him.

Also praise God for giving me a best friend to share my earthly life with, my wife Josepha, who has stood by my side throughout the many challenges that we have faced in ministry and in life together. She has been a wonderful inspiration in my life and a great encouragement to me when I have wanted to give up. One of the links you will find under Street Hope Peterborough features Jo’s poetry. I know that you will be blessed and encouraged to share it with others who might be going through a difficult time in their lives.

This Journey of Hope is far from over as there are many people who need to hear the wonderful message that Jesus loves us and wants to become our very best Friend. Please pray that I will always seek to be faithful to Jesus in my personal life and in the ministry of Street Hope Peterborough that He has called me to develop in this city.
