Holy Spirit Revival & Restoration

MESSAGE SUMMARY

Apostle Phillip Samlalsingh, visiting from Trinidad and Tobago, opens not with a sermon but with a declaration — that the anointing was released before the service formally began, and that no one present will leave the way they came in. He takes time to publicly endorse Pastor Brian Charles as a shepherd God has mantled, telling the congregation that an outside voice confirming what they already know should send them away rejoicing.

The teaching is framed as "what is next on God's agenda." He announces three points and a poem, then, conscious of the time, gets through only the first: revival. Anchoring in Psalm 85:6 — "Wilt thou not revive us again, that thy people may rejoice in thee" — he presses that rejoicing is impossible without revival, and that too many in the church are spiritually flat while going through the motions.

He then defines revival against its counterfeits. It is not emotional excitement, and it is not a thousand people filling a building. Working from the Hebrew chayah and the Greek anazao — to live, to make alive, to restore, to quicken — he argues revival is God breathing life into His people again, the same breath that entered Adam's nostrils and turned formed clay into a living man. "Revival is not a meeting. Revival is a resurrection."

He locates the mechanism in the Holy Spirit, taking Paul's question at Ephesus — "Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed?" — and tracing the pattern through Luke and Acts, where the Spirit came as hands were laid on believers who had already believed. The service closes doing exactly that: laying on of hands, prophetic words over individuals, and prayer for healing.

The Precious Promises of Peter — Part 6

MESSAGE SUMMARY

In Part 6 of the Precious Promises of Peter series, Pastor Brian Charles continues his study of the shed blood of Jesus from 1 Peter 1:18-20: we were redeemed "not with corruptible things, as silver and gold," but with the precious blood of Christ, a Lamb foreordained before the foundation of the world. Calvary was never God's emergency plan. God reconciles us to Himself and then restores us, spirit, soul and body.

Picking up from last week, he recaps Gethsemane (Hebrew for "oil press"), where Jesus' blood was shed for the restoration of our soul, mind, will and emotions, and the crown of thorns, which broke the curse of Genesis 3 and made us kings and priests. He then walks through three more places the blood was shed. Carrying the cross up the Via Dolorosa, Jesus bore our sin so we could carry His name, and taking up our own cross means surrendering our will to God's and dying to the rule of the flesh (Matthew 16:24; Romans 8:13; Galatians 2:20). The nails in His hands and feet paid for everything our hands had done and every wayward path we had walked, so that whatever we now put our hands to is blessed and the devil has only our past, never our future. The spear in His side brought forth blood and water, fulfilling prophecy and birthing the church. Pastor Brian stresses that Jesus laid His life down freely, that no sin is beyond His forgiveness, and that forgiving others releases salvation, as seen in the centurion, the thief on the cross, and Saul after Stephen's prayer.

He closes with 1 John 5: wherever the blood is preached according to the Word, the Holy Spirit bears witness. Every person must be born again, and we are made the righteousness of God in Christ alone. He encourages believers to plead the blood over their homes and families, to live by faith rather than feelings, and invites anyone watching to come home to Jesus, because the blood has never lost its power.

MESSAGE SUMMARY

Darren Gaudreau titled this message "What Jesus Says," built around the idea that Jesus speaks with total authority, but always in love, compassion, and truth — and that the goal of hearing God's word is to actually hear what Jesus is saying to the individual heart, not just to hear the speaker. The message unfolds in two parts.

The first half traces personal encounters where Jesus's words transformed the person he spoke to: the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4), who received the offer of "living water" and was met with truth rather than condemnation about her past, and went on to bring her whole town to faith; and Nicodemus (John 3, John 19), the religious ruler who came to Jesus by night questioning how a man could be "born again," and who was later transformed enough to publicly help bury Jesus's body alongside Joseph of Arimathea. Gaudreau frames both as proof that Jesus shows no favoritism — reaching the outcast and the educated alike.

The second half moves from what Jesus said to people, to what Jesus said about Himself — walking through several of the "I AM" statements in John's Gospel: the bread of life (6:35), the light of the world (8:12), the door of the sheep (10:7-10), the good shepherd (10:11-18), the resurrection and the life (11:25-26), the way, the truth, and the life (14:5-12), and the true vine (15:1-5), along with the "before Abraham was, I AM" declaration in John 8:48-59. Gaudreau also shared a personal testimony about a serious highway accident two weeks earlier involving himself and his wife Josephine, crediting God's protection for them walking away unharmed, and closed with an appeal for listeners to respond to whatever Jesus is personally saying to their hearts, citing James 4:7 on resisting the devil.

MESSAGE SUMMARY

Continuing the Precious Promises of Peter series, Pastor Brian Charles picks up where the previous sessions left off on the shed blood of Christ, then follows the Spirit into a wider message about actually using what Jesus has already provided. His recurring line is that provision without application changes nothing: "I have to claim what Jesus did for me, because if I don't, I won't get it."

He reviews the ground already covered — Gethsemane's drops of blood for the healing of mind, will and emotions; the crown of thorns as a two-fold redemption from the curse of the ground and the curse of the broken law; the stripes for physical healing; and the believer made a king and a priest with delegated authority. He illustrates application with a personal account of a night-time satanic attack on his mind, which lifted within twenty minutes as he applied the blood and took authority.

From there the message becomes intensely practical. Faith means believing the Word when circumstances say otherwise, as Abraham did at seventy-five. He recounts Helen refusing a prognosis of cane, walker, wheelchair and bed, and walking back through the doors healed. He warns against partnering with Satan by repeating his accusations, and describes answering slander by blessing the accused until the voices stop. He insists God does not put sickness on people to teach them: there are no wheelchairs in heaven, and believers hold a dual citizenship whose rights they are meant to claim.

The final third turns to giving. He recounts spending his own tithe, repenting, and receiving back the exact amount through four or five people; grounds the practice in Abraham's tithe to Melchizedek before the Law existed; and tells of handing over an entire preaching honorarium to the driver who collected him, and of a minister who gave away a ten-thousand-dollar offering and later found his mortgage paid in full. He closes on worship, warning against spiritual arrogance and loving a doctrine more than Christ, urging hearers to worship the Giver rather than the gifts, to submit to genuine leadership rather than church-hop, and to stay word-minded — testing every claim by chapter and verse.
